VALLEJO FULL SERVICE COMMUNITY SCHOOLS PROGRAM

#VCUSDPRIDE

The purpose of establishing the Vallejo Full Service Community Schools Program (VFSCS) is to ensure students have clear pathways from Preschool to College and Career. The VFSCS program provides comprehensive academic, social, mental, and physical education services to meet student, family, and community needs.

Program's Goal and Objectives:

The goal of the Vallejo Full Service Community Schools (FSCS) is to improve student academic achievement and well being through the offering of comprehensive high-quality services.

The following are the program's main objectives:

  • Improve student achievement (closing the achievement gap)
  • Improve student attendance
  • Reduce student referrals, suspensions, and expulsions
  • Increase student well-being in a range of health indices
  • Improve school campus safety
  • Increase parent involvement in their children's education

Nutrition Education Obesity Prevention

The  Nutrition Education Obesity Prevention Program (NEOP) is designed to empower Vallejo students and their families to increase fruit and vegetable consumption, physical activity, and increase water consumption with the goal of preventing obesity and other diet related chronic diseases.

Program Goals:

Increase fruit and vegetable consumption

Increase physical activity levels

Increase the availability of healthy foods with the  goal of preventing obesity

The program facilitates behavior change by:

  • Educating students and parents directly through nutrition education
  • Encouraging collaboration amongst schools and the community
  • Creating environments that support fruit and vegetable consumption and physical activity
  • Establishing policies that support the NEOP goals of the program

Positive School Culture

School environments promote values and strategies that keep students in school through our integrated intervention approach by using the following best practices: Positive Behavior Intervention Support, Restorative Justice and Trauma Informed Care

VCUSD Integrated Intervention System

Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) — PBIS is an integrated system of classroom management and individual student support. The goal is to improve behavioral outcomes for students and their families.

Restorative Justice (RJ) — Restorative Justice promotes values and principles that use inclusive, collaborative approaches for being in community. These approaches allow us to act and respond in ways that are healing rather than alienating or coercive.

Trauma Informed Care (TIC) — Trauma Informed Care is an effective approach to engaging people who have histories of trauma that includes awareness and understanding of the role trauma has played in their lives.

Aeries Parent Portal Account Registration

How to Register for VCUSD's Aeries Parent/Student Access

The Aeries Parent Portal access is designed to allow parents and students access to their own information. By setting up an account and/or logging onto the Aeries Parent Portal, you agree to abide by district rules and regulations.

** Use of this system and its services is strictly limited to authorized account holders ONLY.

All users are responsible for their student’s information codes and passwords. Users agree not to give anyone else their passwords, verification codes, or any other personal information that might enable an unauthorized user to access their student’s information. The district will not be responsible for unauthorized access if the user has not been careful with his/her information.
