Attendance Expectations

Studies have shown that the more time spent at school on task, the greater the amount of learning that takes place.  Students who are absent from school when they are not ill are considered truant except in special cases.  Truant students will be referred to the Vallejo City Unified School District's Student Welfare and Attendance Board. Regular absence is a forerunner of chronic absences and eventually inactive/dropout status.

It is expected that each student will attend school each school day.  When this does not occur, the school will call the phone numbers given to us to verify your child's absence.  If your child is going to be absent from school please call the office (556-8400) before 9:00 a.m. to report his/her absence. You may leave a message on our voicemail which is available 24 hours a day.

We encourage families to take vacations during school breaks. The District no longer provides Independent Study for elementary students, therefore, your child will be considered truant.

Attendance Incentives

During each Student of the Month Assembly, student 's who have had perfect attendance for that period are recognized and given a variety of rewards including ribbons, pencils and MORE!
